Library Refurbishment – Final Post

The final post (sorry for the delay),  for the Library job saw Jeff and I lay up and trowel off the lime skim coat on the repaired section of plaster,

The last coats of paint were applied to the walls, while Daniel gilded the very last star…

Then following the scaffold being removed, we re-hung all the paintings, with the help of Eddie McCurrie (work experience student), who also carried out the final touch up painting.  The rest of the protective boarding was then removed and with the help of the Castle staff and volunteers, the room was prepared for re-opening.

Here is a before, during and an after shot, I would like to say thank you to all who were involved in the project and its successful completion, and also to all the Friends of Muncaster who attended the official opening.
