25th Feb 2016 Cumbria Crack “BBC antiques show Flog It! to feature Muncaster Castle”
The popular BBC One antiques programme Flog It! presented by Paul Martin is set to feature Muncaster Castle in the Western Lake District on Monday 29th February.
Flog It! is now on its fourteenth series and regularly achieves an audience of over two million viewers in its weekday afternoon slot.
The major BBC antiques show visited Muncaster Castle in April 2015 to film several valuation days. During filming, hundreds flocked to the historic castle bringing along a huge array of curios and antiques for valuation by the show’s on-screen antique experts Adam Partridge, James Lewis and Caroline Hawley.
You will have to view the BBC One show at 4.30pm on Monday 29th February to see if any of the objects selected made a tidy sum when they went under the hammer at auctioneers Thomson, Roddick & Medcalf in Shaddongate, Carlisle.
Alex Habgood, series Location Manager of BBC Flog It!, said: “Muncaster Castle proved to be the perfect setting for the Flog It! valuation day, rich in history and surrounded by the backdrop of the beautiful scenery of the Western Lake District. It really was a dream location for us which looked great on camera. Filming at Muncaster was a very memorable experience for Paul Martin and the entire Flog It! team. We are very grateful to the people of Cumbria for coming to the valuation day and hope they will enjoy watching the shows.”
Peter Frost-Pennington, a member of the family which has lived at Muncaster for over 800 years, said: “We were delighted that Flog It! chose our family home in the beautiful Western Lake District to film the expert valuation days for the new series. We are all really looking forward to seeing which items were selected to go under the hammer and if any made a bundle for their owners.’’
