Christmas at the Castle

The Gardens and Owl Centre are open daily between 11am and 4pm and the Stable yard is decorated for Christmas.  Groups and schools can book Castle tours, Christmas lunches and other activites (booking essential) and the Castle, shop and cafe may be open to the general public too if groups are booked in, so please check here for up to date opening details nearer the time. 

The elegantly decorated Castle is open to all on  21, 22, 23, 27 & 28 December between 12 and 4pm.  On each of these afternoons "below stairs" tours are available.  These tours take in the Castle and visit some behind the scenes areas not normally open to the public! The Darkest Muncaster Christmas Illuminations run after dusk on each of these dates. Santa Claus and reindeer fly across the Castle during the themed light shows and the atmospheric winter wonderland gardens and café and gift shop are very festive after dark.
