Visiting with Schools
Muncaster offers extensive learning opportunities for children of all ages. With a historic Castle situated in many acres of woodland, 'Himalayan' gardens and the World Owl Centre the opportunity is there for your pupils to study a variety of subjects in a stimulating environment. With the opening of the ecology based MeadowVole Maze and the development of an Educational Suite the education capabilities of Muncaster have been considerably enhanced. Muncaster as a whole is actively producing a range of teaching resources to improve future school visits. Muncaster has always been a popular choice for Primary School visits but we now aim to provide for year round visits which will tie in with National Curriculum programmes of study in Geography, Science and History. Our educational programme in these subject areas is also linked to the QCA mid-term plans used in many Primary Schools.
We have also tried to simplify our school's pricing policy. Although we do offer specialist support in the form of subject based tours with a member of staff, we realise that often schools want to use the facilities independently (with the option of using our free Geography worksheets). For this reason, we have kept the basic entrance fee as low as possible. With the new Education Suite, formal teaching sessions can now be held during a visit, with or without input from Muncaster personnel.
Hopefully you will take advantage of the learning opportunities available at Muncaster and we shall look forward to your visit.
