Welcome to Muncaster Castle - the award winning family attraction and home to the World Owl Centre with more than 200 birds of prey on display. 70 acres of garden famous for its collection of rhododendrons and azaleas set against the stunning backdrop of the Lakeland fells. Indoor children's MeadowVole Maze. playgrounds, cafe, gift shop and Free Parking.
Dogs are welcome in the Gardens and the World Owl Centre if they are kept on leads.

Muncaster Opening Times and Ticket Prices 2013

We are currently operating on our peak season opening hours until the 6th September 2013.

The Gardens and Owl Centre are open from 10.30am until 5pm daily.

The Castle is open Sundays to Fridays from 12 noon until 4.30pm. The Castle is closed most Saturdays to host weddings but is open on all Bank Holiday Saturdays*. 

The Meet the Birds show takes place every day at 2.30pm and don’t miss Heron Happy Hour at 4pm daily when our wild herons fly in to be fed.

The Castle is closed most Saturdays  to host weddings and functions  but is open on all Bank Holiday Saturdays. It may be open other Saturdays if no functions are booked; if this is the case we will state this on the home page of the website the week before.

Group Discounts Available (pre-booking essential) for groups of 12 or more

We recommend that Halloween Ghost Tours & Victorian "Below-Stairs" Christmas Tours are booked in advance. These tickets include entry to the Castle, Gardens & Owl Centre during normal opening hours as well as your special tour, booked for a particular time slot. please see our Special Events pages for more information. From 7th September until the 25th October is Off-peak season. The only difference to peak season is that the Gardens, Owl Centre & Castle will close 30 minutes earlier than peak season times.

During Halloween Week (26th October to 1st November) the Gardens will be open until 9pm each evening.
