Muncaster Castle is hosting the Lake District’s best all-natural adventure race, “Race the Tide” on Saturday 26th August.
Once more the competitors set off across the rugged Cumbrian terrain battling the mud and various obstacles along the way, while the tide will be slowly rising up the river Esk. Will they beat the tide and cross the ford with ease, or…will they get wet?
Runners and spectators will enjoy superb views of beautiful Eskdale and the Western Lake District fells throughout the run. After the race, spectators and runners are invited to a ceilidh with hot supper and a bar also available, to celebrate the outcome of the race.
Ewan Frost-Pennington the organiser of Race the Tide says “We’re looking forward to another Race The Tide event and hope that day-visitors to the Castle will join us to watch the races start at 5pm and 5.15pm.”
Two courses are available; the 12km and the shorter yet equally testing 7km route.
Camping for runners and spectators is also available in the castle gardens.
Tickets are available now and must be purchased in advance of the day, with a limited number of early bird discount tickets (25% off the prices below!) available only up to the end of March.
