Halloween Week

Halloween Week

26 Oct - 1 Nov 2014

Dare you visit one of Britain's most haunted castles this Halloween?!

There are plenty of activities to take part in throughout the day:

Visit the Ghostly Grotto for face painting and free children’s crafts. The Black Monk will be with us for medieval manuscript making and there will be walkabout entertainment from Blooming Circus and Foppletwig Bibbleflaps the Genie Hunter.

Mane Events will be running horse and carriage rides on the main drive and Horse & Husky will be offering husky cart rides too.

We're pleased that our own Creeping Kate's Kitchen cafe will be augmented by seasonal goodies, including mulled wine, candy floss and toffee apples. Wednesday to Saturday, the Coffee Carriage and Chilli Koko's takeaway Indonesian food will also be on-site.

After dusk the gardens are transformed by the Darkest Muncaster illuminations with a mile long route through the beautifully lit trees and shrubs that tower either side of the main drive. A spooky sound and light show plays across the castle. Jason the Fire Juggler performs as night falls.

Are you brave enough to visit the Scary Maze? Visit during the day for a spooky version of the maze tour or dare you visit after dark when we crank up the scare factor!  (Please note that the Maze will not be open as the Meadowvole Maze during Halloween week.)

Make sure you take part in a Castle Ghost Tour  – these sell out every year so pre-booking is essential.
