Twiggy ‘appears’ on BBC Radio Cumbria

Peter Frost Pennington was interviewed by BBC Radio Cumbria as we approach the anniversary of the sad accident which killed Twiggy the roe deer’s mother and left Peter and Iona, the owners of Muncaster, to deliver her unborn fawn and raise her themselves.

The couple were at pains not to domesticate her but while she’s now living completely independently she is still seen around the gardens and estate.

He says “Twiggy’s been living full time in the wild since late November. I can usually find her, especially early in the morning, but she seems to disappear once the public start arriving.”
