Ghost Sits at Muncaster

Muncaster Castle is reputedly one of the most haunted buildings anywhere in the UK. Scientists have been researching the "ghosts" of Muncaster Castle since 1992 and are still unable to explain some of the strange occurrences reported at Muncaster. Dare you spend a night in the 'Tapestry Room' to decide for yourself?

The Muncaster 'Ghost Sit' is a unique opportunity for up to 6 people* to stay overnight in the Tapestry Room. To set the scene, your visit will begin late evening, with a private tour of the Castle.

Your party will be immersed in the tales and legends of Muncaster - an introduction to our ghostly residents. Tom Fool lived here once, some believe he still does. Tales are also told of The White Lady and of a woman dressed in black.

After your tour, settle down for an all-night watch in our notorious Tapestry Room, with its Flemish hangings, rich Georgian furniture, and Elizabethan fireplace. To ensure you don't miss a moment, coffee will be provided.

The following morning, you will be greeted by a full English Breakfast in Creeping Kate's Kitchen. What better way to reflect on your evening and swap stories? We ask all guests to complete a log, sharing their experiences.

We can't guarantee spectacular spectres, but do hope you enjoy high spirits during a unique night to remember.

Friday/Sunday night - £440
Monday - Thursday- £405

We require payment at time of booking

*We can allow an absolute maximum of 8 people to stay, but because the Tapestry Room is a small bedroom, we do recommend only 6 for your own comfort. Please note also that all participants must be over 17 years of age.
