Allows
visitors to interact with Muncaster as never before! A new computer
suite in the Old Dairy allows visitors a vast array of information
on the Castle, Gardens and Owls, in a easy and enjoyable way.
Whatever the time of the year, or
weather, Muncaster Interactive entertains and informs.
The Old Dairy
This used to be where milk from the
cows, kept in what are now Muncaster's offices in the old cobbled
farmyard, was processed and distributed. As well as milk and cream
for the Castle, employees and tenants of Muncaster Estate would
visit daily to collect their milk allowance.
We have carried out the works to
convert the Old Dairy into this high tech facility as sensitively
as possible. You can still see the original floor tiles and drain,
and the plain white wall tiles, all designed to be as easy to keep
clean as possible.
Muncaster interactive
Is an initiative to provide one or
more computer information points at one or more locations on the
Muncaster site free of charge to visitors during normal opening
hours. It provides games, quizzes, facts and figures on Muncaster
and its varied attractions and access to Muncaster's on-site cameras.
It will also provide some information on the surrounding area.
The Old Dairy (Muncaster interactive's
H.Q.) with 12 accessible workstations is fully open to visitors
most afternoons between 1pm and 5pm. There are also interactive
computers situated at the Main Gate and the Carriage House Gift
Shop. The Old Dairy will also be available for educational purposes
and training courses any morning and evening if booked in advance.
