Muncaster Castle is reputedly one of the most haunted buildings in the UK. Despite regular scientific research since 1992, scientists are still unable to explain many of the strange occurrences reported at Muncaster. Dare you spend a night in the Tapestry Room to decide for yourself?

The Muncaster Ghost Sit Experience is a unique opportunity for up to 8 participants* to stay overnight in the Tapestry Room.

Your visit will begin late evening, with a private tour of the castle when your party will be immersed in the tales and legends of Muncaster – an introduction to our ghostly residents. Tom Fool lived here once; some believe he still does. Tales are also told of The White Lady, Maggie the Crying Child and of a woman dressed in black.

After your tour, settle down in our notorious Tapestry Room, with its Flemish hangings, rich Georgian furniture and Elizabethan fireplace. To ensure you don’t miss a moment, coffee will be provided.

The following morning we ask all guests to complete a log, sharing their experiences.
