The Sledgehammer House of Horror Tickets

Includes:

  • Full days entry to the Gardens & entrance to the Hawk & Owl centre in the day. Open from 10.30am
  • A 30-40 minute Halloween performance in the Castle’s drawing room at your chosen timeslot
Prices:
  • Adults - £25
  • Children (5-15) - £12.50
  • Not suitable for under 7s

Guided tours around the Castle

Includes:

  • Full days entry to the Gardens & entrance to the Hawk & Owl centre in the day. Open from 10.30am
  • A 30-40 minute historic tour of the ground rooms of the Castle, led by a Castle curator (this is not Halloween themed)
Prices:
  • Adults - £18.00
  • Children (5-15) - £9
  • Children under 5 years old - FREE
    Not recommended for smaller children

TWILIGHT OWLS - 7PM

An evening bird show £5 per person – you need general entry to get access to this show in addition to the £5 ticket

DO I NEED TO PRE BOOK TICKETS FOR HALLOWEEN WEEK?

Pre booking is highly recommended. Castle tours, The Sledgehammer House Of Horror evening shows and Twilight Owls are on a first come first served basis and due to Covid-19 restrictions numbers are more limited than usual, book early to avoid disappointment
Please have a look at the different options available – Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable
Note – Tickets can only be purchased for 6 or less people (due to Government guidelines, 14.09.2020)

Halloween Activities at Muncaster Castle

  • 12 – 5pm  Ghostly Grotto - Lantern making workshops*
    (£2 per person. Sign up in grotto located in the Old Laundry in the Courtyard)
  • 12 – 5pm  Free “plague Medicine” workshops every hour.
    Limited numbers please sign up on arrival. (venue TBC)
  • 12.00 – 5pm  Join the Witch Hunters trail around the gardens.
    Learn how to protect yourself from magic spells! Meet under the Witch by the Castle! (lasts approx. 30 mins)
  • 4pm onwards  Pre booked Sledgehammer House of Horrors shows
    Meet at the Front Door 10 mins before ticketed time (indicated by ghost symbol on site plan). Not suitable for children under 7. Pre booking highly recommended
  • 4pm  Hawk and Owl Centre closes
  • 5pm  Free Drumming workshop in Ghostly Grotto
    limited spaces please sign up on arrival (Grotto located in the Old Laundry in the Courtyard)
  • 5.45pm  Lantern & drumming procession to the playground lawn
    please meet in the ghostly grotto
  • 6.00pm  Fire Show on playground lawn
  • 7pm  Twilight Owl Show in Hawk & Owl Centre.
    Please be at the gate opposite the wildlife pond at least 10 mins before show starts. No access is allowed once the show has started. Access through the tea room for wheelchair users only. NO DOGS ALLOWED IN THE FLYING ARENA. Please note – pre booking of Twilight Owls is highly recommend. Tickets are £5 per person.
  • 8pm  Fire Show on playground lawn
    * Limited places for each workshop. The children will then be invited to take part in the 5.45pm procession from the Stable yard to the fire juggling show at 6pm, along with the children from the drumming workshop.
