Set in our impressive purpose built Weapons Hall, you’ll have the chance to learn and test your abilities in archery, crossbow shooting and axe throwing.
As part of your adventure, you’ll also enjoy an immersive display featuring birds of prey and even have the opportunity to fly an owl yourself. Your day will culminate with a visit to the castle state rooms, allowing you to immerse yourself in its history.
With all activities guided by our experienced Weapons Masters, you can be assured of a truly epic day out at Muncaster Castle!

What happens on the day?
The experience begins with a welcome and introduction before you head off to enjoy a variety of activities. Across the day you’ll take part in 30 minute sessions in archery, axe throwing, and crossbow. You’ll also test your skills in a sword workshop and get hands-on with an owl handling experience.
Alongside these activities, you’ll be able to enjoy a spectacular bird of prey flying display and take a break for lunch in the café as well as being treated to a private guided tour of the castle.

Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 12 years
- Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult
- There is a 15 minute walk between the entrance and The Weapons Hall
- The experience is wheelchair friendly, apart from sword skills
- No alcohol consumption before or during the experience is permitted
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
