Little Greba & Greba

Greba Cottages sit in the heart of the Cumbrian Coastal Village of Ravenglass with amazing Estuary views which offer the most spectacular sunsets, next door to our family owned hotel The Pennington where you can be assured of a warm Cumbrian welcome, great food using home grown produce and quality beverages.

The cottages have undergone a complete rebuild and transformation in 2020 allowing them to be marketed separately as Little Greba or Greba Cottage or together allowing that bit extra space for larger families or group of friends providing the perfect place for that getaway to relax and unwind taking in everything the western coastal Lake District has to offer.

Every part of the buildings have been painstakingly rebuilt using only the very best and traditional materials including the final finishing’s,  we have used local wood and the walls have been finished in a specialist lime plaster which until completely set continues to move, crack and discolour slightly whilst we allow the building to come back to life there are areas of the interior walls that have this effect – it is perfectly safe just can look a little strange we hope to have this process finalised by December starting 2021 with a second complete redecoration.

Both Little Greba & Greba are dog friendly (maximum 2 dogs per property) we just ask your furry friends to not go on the furniture

Herbert House

Our newly and fully refurbished period 5-bedroom detached house Herbert House is set in the heart of the village of Ravenglass, on the estuary of this beautiful coastal area of the western lake district.

Herbert House is set on Main Street and next door to our boutique Pennington Hotel which offers fantastic food and beverage for those days when you don’t feel like cooking and just 2 miles away from the historic, spectacular 800 year old Muncaster Castle, a must for a day out with its hauntings, events, children’s play areas, sweeping gardens, vistas. Muncaster has a Hawk and Owl center where conservation is at the very heart with 2 flying displays a day in main season these birds really are something special.

The house offers comfortable and flexible accommodation for up to 8 people and is the perfect holiday home to relax and unwind in.  Having been recently lovingly refurbished this large house has much to offer our guests and with plenty of space and is a great base for exploring the area just a short drive from Wast Water – England’s deepest lake and Scafell England’s highest mountain there really is something for everyone

Inside on the ground floor there is a modern, cosy, comfortable lounge with sofas and large 50” TV, extending dining room with table and chairs, snug that offers a TV and seating area brilliant for the children to play or game in or just to escape the adults, fully fitted kitchen with all the amenities you would expect including a range cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle & toaster along with direct access to the back yard area.

The first floor has 3 large bedrooms, 2 with superking beds that can be changed to twin if required and a comfortable double room, the full family bathroom and smaller shower room are on this floor too, up to the second floor where there are 2 further large bedrooms both have superking beds which again can be split to twin (we leave one room as a twin) the front bedrooms of the house have spectacular estuary views. The rooms have storage all first and second floor is fully carpeted.

Herbert house is dog friendly and we love our four-legged friends to have a great time with their humans, there is a small enclosed back yard and also the front patio area with picnic table is enclosed, there is space to run on the village green for them and very little traffic so really safe. We would just ask that they don’t go on the furniture there is an additional charge per dog of £20.00 per stay, we can only accept a maximum of 2 dogs in this property.

Newtown House

Our recently fully refurbished period 4-bedroom semi-detached property, Newtown House is set just outside of the village of Ravenglass, with picturesque estuary views and open countryside vistas of the beautiful coastal area of the western lake district.

Newtown House is set next door to our biggest self-catering property Knott View and can be linked with this property to give a larger venue of 10 bedrooms and both have been completely redesigned taking into account the traditional features and spectacular estuary views

Newtown House is approximately 2 miles from the village of Ravenglass and here you will find our Pennington Hotel which offers fantastic food and beverage for those days when you don’t feel like cooking and our traditional Inn, the Inn at Ravenglass offering traditional ales and a warm welcome the perfect place to watch the spectacular sunsets and just 2 miles away from the historic, spectacular, haunted 800 year old Muncaster Castle, a must for a day out with its hauntings, events, children’s play areas, sweeping gardens and vistas. Downstairs. Fully fitted kitchen with all the amenities you would expect including a range cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle & toaster..

The first floor has 4 large bedrooms, 2 with superking beds that can be changed to twin if required and 2 feature bedrooms with King size beds, both of the feature rooms have en-suite shower rooms, the full family bathroom has a freestanding bath and walk in shower and modern units and has been completely updated. The bedrooms have storage and all bedrooms have new carpets.

Newtown house is dog friendly and we love our four-legged friends to have a great time with their humans, there is large garden areas with picnic tables. We would just ask that they don’t go on the furniture.

There is an additional charge per dog of £25.00 per stay, we can only accept a maximum of 2 dogs in this property.

Fully fitted kitchen with all the amenities you would expect including a range cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle & toaster..

The first floor has 2 large bedrooms, with superking beds that can be changed to twin if required, he bedrooms have storage and all bedrooms have new carpets. the full main bathroom has a separate bath and walk in shower, toilet and pedestal sink

Second Floor has 4 bedrooms, 2 with en-suite shower rooms and the 3rd with a separate toilet and sink, all rooms have super king beds and can be split to twins if required. (2 rooms are up another small set of stairs)

The Coachman's Quarters at Muncaster Castle

The Coachman’s Quarters is available for larger groups (up to 34 people) to book exclusively for self-catering breaks of 2 nights or more. With its large communal lounge, kitchen and dining room, it’s the perfect location for a Lake District escape with family and friends and the dogs can come too.

There are ten bedrooms available (34 beds) including nine rooms with en-suite facilities.
