The Muncaster Fringe is a series of year-round events produced by Muncaster Castle in locations across Cumbria and beyond.
These events bring creativity and culture to new audiences, celebrating local talent, community partnerships, and accessible performance.
The Muncaster Fringe is proudly supported using public funding by Arts Council England, through the National Lottery Project Grants programme.

Local Brass Bands LIVE!

A free concert with Local Brass Bands as part of the Krankenhaus music festival and The Muncaster Fringe.

Working in collaboration with team Krankenhaus, The Muncaster Fringe is delighted to also be bringing:

A Curlew’s Tale
Friday 22 August 2025, 10.30am - 12.00pm
Ravenglass Village Green
Join The Knotted Project for an adventure down through Ravenglass on the trail of the Curlew’s Tale. We’ll set off from the green outside The Inn At Ravenglass pub and take in the sights down by the beach, then go beach-combing and look for wildlife and birds with ex-RSPB pros Dave Shackleton and Jon Carter. We will also take in a visit to Dave’s ‘plastic museum’ in his front garden in Ravenglass. Look out for the Wellington Boot Dog!
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Meet on Friday at 10.30am on the green outside The Inn At Ravenglass pub, in Ravenglass. The event finishes at 12.00pm
This will be followed by a Family Choir Workshop from 12:30pm on The Village Green.

Art & Music in Ravenglass
A new artworl entitled ‘Emergent Landscapes’ by Rob St John was unveiled on 21 August 2025 in collaboration with Rosehill Theatre.
Rob is an artist, musician and writer based in rural Lancashire. His work focuses on the blurring between nature and culture in contemporary landscapes and has featured at the Tate Modern and The British Museum. He plays with the band Modern Studies.
We also presented live music from Dalton Brass Band, Chloe Pinney, Rueben Tighe, and Phil Lewthwaite around Ravenglass Village throughout the evening.


ROOTS X MUNCASTER
Our first ever Fringe Event on 20 August 2025: A wonderful evening celebrating the talents of four local Cumbrian artist in collaboration with Soundwave.
Karma Theif, Grace Price, Clara Pople, Exploding Head.
