nspcc esther award the pennington

In August we were nominated for an Esther Award. We raised nearly £1500 for the NSPCC via our delicious VE Day Afternoon Teas. Thank you to everyone who bought and enjoyed them too!

"You, Isla and your team not only created delicious teas – a treat at a time when few treats are available – but brought in new volunteers who could use your hospitality skills to support us, and became a news story which spread awareness for us. A wonderful achievement in so many different ways.

How did we come to this decision?

Our panel of judges – Peter Wanless, previous winner Jacky Wood and two young people, Molly and Rachel – had the difficult task of shortlisting our 58 fantastic nominations down to 12.
I’ve had the pleasure to read all our shortlisted nominations and I’ve been so impressed by the ingenuity, the creativity and the refusal to admit defeat all these nominees have shown that I decided that all shortlisted are winners – you should feel very proud!"

Located in Ravenglass, the only seaside village in the Lake District National Park
