Muncaster Orienteering Course

Muncaster Orienteering Course

A navigation challenge for all abilities.

Orienteering packs are available from the Main Gate and Bird Box Gift Shop, they cost £5. The pack contains an orienteering map, pencil, instructions, and control scorecard.

The map uses standard orienteering symbols to show the castle grounds and surrounding woodland. There are 16 checkpoints to locate and visit, you can aim to visit some or all of them during your visit to Muncaster. To visit all the controls involves covering a distance of about 4km.

There is a number at each control, corresponding to the number on the map. There is also a code letter that you can record on your scorecard.

This is a great team-building activity for families!
