What more prestigious setting for your meeting, conference, event or product launch than a medieval Castle set in 77 acres of woodland gardens?

Whether you’re planning an informal meeting for two, a formal conference for 100, team building or a training day, Muncaster has a range of rooms and facilities available to meet your requirements and budget, from the Bluebell Room for up to eight delegates or the Old Laundry Function Room seating around 100 through to the grand boardroom setting of the Formal Dining Room of the Castle itself, together with ample private and free parking in the grounds.

From your initial enquiry to the day itself, our team will be dedicated to delivering the service that you’d expect from a venue as impressive as Muncaster Castle. Whilst the service will be as you would expect for a luxury setting, the food is no less a standard. Home-made on-site with local produce, this helps add that extra touch of class to your day.

The experience can be enhanced by adding a private tour of the Castle or an elegant Champagne reception in the Great Hall.

Dine in style

All 24 hour packages will include a 3 course dinner at the Pennington Hotel in Ravenglass but if you want to dine in real style, you can book a 3, 4 or 5 course evening meal in the Castle itself. From the grandeur of the Formal Dining Room for groups of up to around 30, the welcoming Family Dining Room for up to ca 50 with its fantastic wooden panelling and ceiling lantern or, for up to 100, the Drawing Room with Italian plastered barrelled ceiling and surrounded by family portraits, dining in the Castle is an unforgettable experience. Contact us to discuss your requirements but indicative prices for a group Castle dinner are from £45-£75 per head.

Add another dimension to your event

We’re able to host a range of extra indoor or outdoor activities to add to your event, whether you are holding a corporate or team building day with us or a wedding or other celebration with family and friends. We can liaise with local providers to meet your requirements or provide facilities here for your own instructor.

We have links with local supplier West Lakes Adventure, providing a formidable range of outdoor activities from gorge walking through mountain biking to canoe expeditions, plus with local horse trekking centres offering short and day rides, including on our fantastic beaches.

There is also the adrenaline rush of husky mushing with Horse & Husky and (for the more or less energetic!) archery for all levels with Independent Adventure can be provided on the Castle lawns.

The Hawk and Owl Centre based at the Castle can also offer a range of activities including a private flying display for your group, giving them a taste of nature and its beauty.

Bear in mind that within the extensive Gardens we are also able to host outdoor activities for some light relief or as part of a more structured team building event, either helping to set your objectives through a network of fully qualified instructors or by acting as a host to your chosen supplier.
