Halloween and Christmas Learning Opportunities at Muncaster Castle, Gardens and Hawk & Owl Centre
Our Halloween and Christmas packages include access to the Muncaster Gardens where your group can explore the many paths, woodlands, and ponds. Your group will also enjoy the thrills and spills of our adventure play area, Yeti Adventure Quarry, Giant Swing and Meadowvole Maze. Muncaster’s Eco Barn and Bird Hide offer the opportunity to learn about the wildlife and conservation work that is carried out on the Muncaster Estate and the Hawk and Owl Centre is also well worth a visit to meet the birds of prey in their aviaries.
Muncaster’s Experiences Director can work with you to create a bespoke, fun-packed itinerary for you and your group that suits your individual requirements and is exciting, educational, and entertaining.

Witches and Ghosts Halloween Castle Tour - Muncaster is one of the most haunted castles in the whole of England and has been home to the Pennington family for over 800 years, but is the place haunted? You decide as you learn about ghostly tales, witchy potions, and Tom Fool's tricks. The tour is designed for all ages and key stages, with links to the history and English curriculum.
Daily Muncaster Hawk and Owl Centre flying displays – our World of Owls display is at 11.30am in the Hawk and Owl Centre Rose Garden, and our Sky Hunters Display will be held on the Flying Meadow at 2pm. Each display lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Christmas at Muncaster Castle Tour - An exciting Victorian Christmas tour suitable for all ages. The tour allows your group to learn about Christmas celebrations during the Victorian era, see original objects, and play Victorian parlour games. The Castle will be decorated for Christmas. This tour can also include the opportunity to meet Father Christmas and exchange gifts.
Meeting Father Christmas – You have the opportunity to meet Father Christmas at the end of your Christmas Castle Tour. You can provide your own, wrapped gift for each pupil that Father Christmas will present to the pupils, or alternatively we can provide the pupils with a gift from Father Christmas for an additional cost of £5 per pupil, please indicate your preference when booking.
Additional Activities – you can include a flying display in your itinerary; the display will last approximately 25 minutes and is included in the ticket price. For an additional £1 per pupil, we can provide additional self-led indoor Christmas activities to include colouring in and puzzles in the Eco Barn.
